Pure Milk, Anywhere? (Documentary, India)



This is a 22 minute film about the present Industry of Milk in India. It is a work of a lot of research about the problem of adulteration and it’s history in an agricultural country like India. We discuss the tradition of cow sheds in the time of Lord Krishna, goshalas, the culture of pure raw milk drinking, the british era which totally changed the way a farmer grows his crops and produces the milk for the community, post indepence dairy industry, agreements with dairy cooperatives, privatization of milk, and the future of Indian food and dairy scene. The movie talks about four questions. What are Dairy Cooperatives? How have they gradually rooted off traditional dairies of India? The quality of milk in India today? Is it possible to find pure milk at all?
