On July 30th, 2016 members and volunteers from the World Conscious Pact Northeast hosted their second annual Chaski Fest in Danbury, CT, USA, hosted on the Danbury City Center Green, one of the most common concert venues in the area. The festival featured ten performers, including local bands and poets. The performers included, Ecu-Chaskis, Fred Ball, Nantambu, Tangible, The Midnight Blues, The Atom Family, Eileen O’Hare, Touro Band, Jc Alza Jam band, and One Anthem, featuring a variety of poetry, jazz, Andean music, kirtan chanting, folk rock, reggae, and more. Several bands were performing in Chaski Fest for the second time and helped promote the festival’s message among the local music scene.

A variety of organizations and initiatives working for the protection of Mother Earth were represented at the festival. For the first time, the World Conscious Pact volunteers hosted representatives from WEEAC (World Events Ending Animal Cruelty), a non-profit organization uniting initiatives that work toward ending the suffering of animals and the recognition of animals as sentient beings, Natural Awakenings Magazine, a regional magazine featuring cutting edge information about natural health and green living, the United Nations of the Spirit, a non-profit initiative developed by over twenty indigenous groups from around America inviting everyone to apply ancestral wisdom to their daily lives, become activists, and protect Mother Earth, and Eco-Yoga villages, a network of organic farms and ecological communities offering tourism and volunteer opportunities. World Conscious Pact volunteers also collected signatures for the Rights of Mother Earth and the declaration of the United Nations of the Spirit. The festival also featured shamanic healers, representatives from Solar energy consulting firms and organic home cleaning companies.
For the second year in a row, Chaski Fest Danbury was an opportunity for conscious artists, activists, organizations, and community members to share their efforts, raise awareness, and strengthen the local network of groups working for environmentally protection. The World Conscious Pact Northeast plans to continue the festival each year.
